There is also a
contractor association which works with each of the local
unions. The following
organizations are proud to welcome you to our website, UA Boston:
- Plumbers Local 12 &
Plumbing, Heating, Cooling Contractors of Greater Boston
- Pipefitters Local 537 & New
England Mechanical Contractors Association
- Sprinkler Fitters Local 550
& National Fire Sprinkler Association
This website is a portal site built to
help you learn more about each local and the signatory
contractor associations. Our Signatory Contractors
employ the members of each union and we're proud to have
such a great working relationship that we're building this
website as partners.
The reason the site was built is to support a program that
the UA members in Boston are doing with the Boston Bruins
and NESN. While the locals and contractors generally
promote themselves individually, we also work together for a
common goals, in this case, to support
Helmets to Hardhats.

Helmets to Hardhats, a Congressionally funded program, is
the fastest, easiest way for transitioning military,
Reservists, and Guardsmen to find a rewarding career in the
construction industry. By visiting the
Helmets to Hardhats website, you can create a free profile to help you
find career opportunities in the Building Trades that match
your military background.
You don't have to be a piping expert to participate in the
Helmets to Hardhats program. This is a Building Trades
initiative which encompasses all of the 14 Building Trades
Unions. Therefore if your strength lies outside of
piping systems, say electrical or sheet metal working, then
you're still eligible for this great program.
